My Review of Windows 10 Simplified
I may have been a long-time Windows user but this book has taught me quite a few new things. The first few chapters offer a glimpse into the history of Windows and introduces the reader to basic computer-related tech terms in a detailed manner. As a result, the book is suitable for absolute beginners as well as experienced users.
It’s an in-depth manual to set up your Windows 10 with screenshots to guide you every step of the way. The step-wise explanations will help readers who are not tech savvy to navigate their computers with ease. Important information is highlighted using boxed inserts and different font colors.
I found chapter 9 – Working with Microsoft Edge particularly interesting because I have not used the web browser so far. I also learnt many new things in Chapter 10 – Working with Windows Updates.
Anand has also included two highly useful appendices about the Microsoft Store and Microsoft Surface devices. (I didn’t even know about Microsoft Surface devices!)
In the conclusion, Anand offers some pertinent advice to readers, exhorting them to use their free time during lockdown to learn new skills, especially tech-related. He believes learning should be freely available and has thus made the book available for free via Blogchatter.
If you’d like to learn the ins and outs of Windows 10, this is a comprehensive book written in simple and easily understandable language.
